- entrepreneurs ages 55-64 launched 21% of new U.S. based businesses in 2011 – think OPEN for business
- holding our own – 16% of homebuyers nationwide are single women with a median age of 48
- making the rules – Hawaii democrat Mazie Hirono (65) is the oldest female member of the senate’s freshman class
- hitting the books – according to the National Center for Education Statistics, about 4 million people over the age of 35 will be enrolled at colleges and universities by 2015!
- off and running – over 1500 women 50 and over ran in the 2012 Boston Marathon – remember when there was one!
